むすびつける【結び付ける】

1 〔ひもなどで〕 tie (up); join [fasten, link] together; yoke; bind [lash, secure] 《one thing》 to 《another》.

●そりにロープを結びつける attach [lash] a rope to a sled

・体にロープを結びつける attack [tie] a rope to one's body

・木の枝におみくじを結びつける tie a fortune-telling paper onto a branch of a tree.

2 〔関係づける〕 connect 《science》 with 《industry》; colligate.
